- Volta & Artisanal Hive -
Having grown up with extremely sensitive skin,
experimenting with topical preparations using organic and
all-natural ingredients just made sense. I found the products
I was making were not only better in the sense that they were
not irritating my skin but better because I knew exactly what
was going into them and why. When I began to develop my
line, ingredients and where they came from was and still is
very important to me.
Volta Organics and Volta Home products are handmade in
small batches in our Philadelphia studio. We are seriously committed to the producing quality products for bath, body,
and home that are made from wholesome, skin friendly, and
All Volta products are vegetarian and most are vegan but some do contain animal ingredients such as goat milk, honey, and beeswax. Any animal ingredients we use ALWAYS come from local, sustainable, animal friendly sources. We have never and will never test on animals and don't buy from sources that do.
Volta Market to Artisanal Hive
Volta Market was founded in 2014. We decided to open up a little bricks & mortar in South Philadelphia but now we've taken our shop online and revised our mission to include actively representing and spreading the word about great small, local businesses through Artisanal Hive.
We love making our own stuff but we also love supporting other companies that share our commitment to sustainability and quality. You'll see that we carry a number of local artists' handmade goods, bean to bar chocolates, locally roasted coffees, fair trade teas, and more. If you're not sure where to start, sign up for a Community Supported Self Care membership and get a carefully curated selection of handmade goods delivered to you each month.
We also get really excited when our customers want to try their hand at making their own natural beauty and home supplies, which is why we sell a number of the bulk ingredients in manageable quantities so you can DIY. We've got everything you need to get started from essential oils to base oils, butters, beeswax to unscented Volta soap. Make sure to keep your eye on our blog and social media for recipes and workshops near you.
